It’s an important crossroads between Egypt, Syria-Phoenicia, and Arabia. It’s been inhabited since prehistoric times, situated between the Red Sea and the Dead Sea. While being man made, it has withstood the time of day. Petra, Jordan – Most commonly seen in the third Indiana Jones movie, it was partially carved into t he side of a mountain and partially built. ![]() The entrance to it is rather touchy, being submerged by water and needed a calm day on the sea to bring boats through. The way the lava cooled below and above caused contraction and fracturing. The walls look like stairwells due to the hexagonally connected basalt columns. Staffa is entirely volcanic and has many caves aside from this one. Still, Fingal’s Cave is an interesting place to visit, bringing people to the island. It creates so many story ideas, wondering what could exist beyond our realm of imagination.įingal’s Cave, Isle of Staffa – Staffa is one of Scotland’s Islands, once inhabited in the 1700’s by 16 people, due to the small size of it. Man made things being taken over are one thing, but the shear magnificence of what exists is my favorite. That’s not even from just nature’s creations. ![]() It’s hard to believe that some of these places even exist outside of a painting. There are broken down houses and buildings that have been overtaken by nature. It’s a wonder to see the way nature creates such beauty. ![]()
